PROPOSED SOLUTION
At the political level, one of our sustainable solutions is to help pass a bill that requires the state to hire a certain amount of DLNR (Department of Land and Natural Resources) or DOFAW (Division of Forestry and Wildlife) workers to help land restoration efforts in native forests around the island. This is just one problem the state has with fighting invasive species; the ratio of volunteers/ workers watering and caring for the huge land mass that makes up Hawaii's forests. This is a sustainable solution because the new bill will allow state workers to cover more land area and rehabilitate key places faster, overall speeding up the healing process of our forests.
